A whole new batch from They Live We Sleep! It’s been a while since the last cassette (the long gone certified jammer that was Acheron), so to make up for lost time, THREE NEW RELEASES. Click on the titles to learn more!
Our friend over at Moduli TV (AKA our friend over at the great and ever expanding Hobo Cult) has made a video for Ocular Gymnastic’s debut cassette “Vol. 1”. Moduli TV dismantles archair architecture, leaving rubble appropriate for Ocular’s junkyard drumming style.
The video hiatus is over. Videos are coming, and they’re coming for you. Here’s the first video of a new year (so to speak).
Happy New Year’s 12 minute epic made it’s first appearance in an issue of Yeti (issue 11), which was packaged with a CD with a tracklisting whose track length correlated with it’s track number (1 song, 1 minute. 2nd, 2 minutes. 12th, 12 minutes.) An abridged version appears on a 7” released by Crikey! Records, with the killer A-side “Gold Medallion”.
“And… Begin!” is a slow boil, evoking the desire of transformation. Sometimes we dress as something we’re not, walking down the street with our non-others. Source material “Paris is Burning” shares such desire.
Written, produced & performed by Eleanor Logan at The Hospital, Brooklyn NY, 2011. Mixed by Jeremy Scott at The Civil Defense, Brooklyn NY.
Here’s a Video Nasties mixtape made for Slackula Radio.
Video Nasties “Healthy Diet Mixtape”
This mixtape was mixed live and improvised. This is the result of marathoning seasons of Oz. I no longer hang out in parks after 11. I walk down the streets with my fists clenched. I close doors when I have conversations. My business is my business. Don’t ask anybody for favours. And don’t do favours for anybody else. When you hear rattling tire chains, I’m nearby.

3. Clipse (feat. Ab-Liva & Roscoe P Coldchain) - Cot Damn

Oh, and a whole new batch of cassettes are coming.
Mixtape taken from the Night Bus set w/ CFCF & JRC (Montreal/Blizzarts/Nov. 10).
cracks in the buldings are filled with battered moonlight.
The whole shadow of Man is only as big as his hat.
It lies at his feet like a circle for a doll to stand on,
and he makes an inverted pin, the point magnetized to the moon.
He does not see the moon; he observes only her vast properties,
feeling the queer light on his hands, neither warm nor cold,
of a temperature impossible to records in thermometers.
This feeling of disconnection existed long before Night Bus, but the existence of Night Bus makes me feel just a little bit more comfortable. Thank you, CFCF and JRC, for allowing me to join in on the celebration.
This mixtape was mixed live. The tracks are as follows:
1. The Black Hole (dialogue)

What with the lethargic summer heat, a failing external hard drive, and no access to editing labs, the production of videos have slowed down. I plan on remedying this. But, in the meantime, here’s something not-so-new! From the out-of-print DVD-R “Please Insert Cassette Vol. 1”, the Video Nasties video for “You Ain’t No Punk You Punk”. This track can be listened to on the first side of Video Nasties’ “No. 3”, which is still available, though limited to only 25 copies.
And, for those who love to be nagged, if you somehow have money leftover from the Suoni Per Il Popolo festival, swing by Sala Rossa tomorrow night for Wyrd MTL! $10! 10 bands! I’ll be doing visuals until my fingerprints fall off! And then I start carjacking!

It’s PWYC so you can be a jerk and toss a couple of quarters at the poor schmuck working the door (or give a couple of dollars, which is also cool).
The first batch of Acheron cassettes are all sold out, the second (and final) batch of 25 are ready to go. To celebrate this endeavour, I have uploaded Geodesic’s Sex Slaves release. Geodesic is one half of Acheron, treating us to a couple of short tracks. Dub them on your spare c8.
I made a Bandcamp page for my Video Nasties releases. Side A of the cassettes are available for stream, while a download of the full cassette costs a measly $2. Why not? It’s called America. No. 3 will be up there eventually, as the .wav files are sitting on an external hard drive, and I really should be writing an essay right now.
